How you can help!

Our programs are dependent upon donations and lesson fees. Since we began, we have survived on grants, program fees, donated equipment, facilities, as well as community donations and much physical labor support. We have learned that we are talented in many ways. Over the years we have made and sold woodcrafts, candles, and pet treats (horse, dog and cat). We also sale t-shirts to raise money.

Do you use Southern States feeds for your horses?

RCTRC is a SHOW (Special Horse Organization Winner) Program Participant. This is a unique opportunity for RCTRC in the Southern States market territories to earn financial sponsorship for special events. All of the funds are required to be used in events that specifically benefit the horse industry.

As a leader in equine care and nutrition, Southern States is committed to providing support to horse organizations. Through participation this program RCTRC is provided financial support.

How does the SHOW program work?

You can cut off, collect and mail the proof of purchases of eligible bags of Southern States and Triple Crown horse feeds to our program and RCTRC will submit the proof of purchases to the Southern States Cooperative Program Administrator in Richmond, VA.

As part if this agreement with Southern States, RCTRC furnishes and annual report with the name of our SHOW program administrator.

Ongoing Fundraising Activities

Plop-Drop Tickets: We sell tickets to the spaces in the arena 1-400 - you can purchase them on-line or you can purchase them from riders or directly from the farm 304-634-1845.

It doesn't matter what you drive - just get here! We have had antique trucks (1941 1-ton Ford Express pickup and Skip Gilkeson's 1920's something Whippet), antique tractors (Mark and Gary Cooper's Farmall H), Model A's (Stubby Gober), and you probably wouldn't believe what else!

There is something here for everyone! Food, fun, music and games for the entire family. In 2004 we will be hosting our 9th one!

Bowl-a-Thon

Usually held in July, this is our summer fundraiser held at the Strike Zone located in Barboursville, West Virginia. It is great fun! No bugs! and cool inside.

Anyone can participate, just contact us for further details.

Good Horse Scents Candles

In order to help raise funds for River Cities Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. we now have available for purchase, hand-made candles in a number of scents. Each of these candles are hand-made by RCTRC volunteers. All proceeds go to River Cities Therapeutic Riding Center.

Our candles are hand blended and poured into each container or jar. Our wicks are lead free!

Rules for burning candles safely:

Please read and follow these instructions to enjoy your candles safely!
Never leave candle burning unattended
Keep out of the reach of children and pets!
Do not allow wick trimmings, carbon pieces or other debris to fall into the wax pool.
Use only on a heat resistant surface or in an approved holder.
Keep away from drafts or flammable objects such as curtains!
Keep wick trimmed to ¼ inch at all times, and when doubt – put it out!

T-Shirts

We also have T-shirts that have our logo on the front left chest and across the back. The shirts are screen printed locally at Hometown Sportswear, in Barboursville, WV. We must pay for the shirts and you can purchase them from us for $15.00 for S, M, L and XL and $20.00 for anything XXL +.
